Job Description:

Responsibilities:

1. Provide specific solution/technology/product consulting, technical and expert sales support for major account opportunities.

2. Understand business requirements for customer base and be able to translate them into technical requirements and map these to Cisco’s differentiated value proposition.

3. Understand and Articulate Cisco's WAAS & Networking Technology, Architectures and Service at an expert level, and how this fits and adds value within Cisco Architectures: Cisco Data Centre/Virtualization, Borderless Networks and Virtual Experience Infrastructure.

4. Facilitate better communications and understanding of customer requirements between customers, corporate and the field.

5. Create, present and document technical solutions.

6. Perform in-depth and high-level technical presentations for customers, partners and prospects. This could include hands-on demos and proof of concepts plus in-depth competitive positioning.

7. Drive identified major account opportunities (i.e. technical consulting, upper level management presentations, and Cisco technology solutions) while allowing local account team to maintain long-term ownership.

8. Provide consultative support and mentor other less experienced Systems Engineers in assigned major account opportunities.

9. Major account focus will require increased travel responsibilities.

Desired Profile:

Skills and Experience:

1. 5+ years of related technical experience. In depth layer 4-7 protocols a must: TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, MAPI, CIFS, SIP, etc…

2. Strong technical skills in application deployment in Data Centers and over WANs.

3. Cisco product experience and specific solution/ technology/ product positioning required or product experience in key competitor offerings.

4. Working knowledge of cloud/virtualization and network relevancy is desired

5. Typically requires BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent.

6. CCIE certification highly desirable or 10+ years experience in Networking

7. Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation and presentation skills.

8. Ability to work effectively, add value as a team member and assume a leadership role for the virtual team.

9. Ability to train and disseminate information to other SEs and Channel Partners.

10. Leading-edge technical knowledge and consultative skills, which are above reproach.

11. Experience with enterprise class deployment/support is essential: SAP, Oracle, etc…

12. In-depth industry knowledge in the appropriate market segment(s).

13. Knowledge of relevant solutions sets, product line specifications, performance criteria and use-cases.

14. Competitive knowledge (in their area of specialization) including solution, technology and product offerings.
