Applications from eligible candidates are invited for appointment on the following temporary posts in the Bihar State Electricity Board.
1. Post Name : Assistant Electrical Engineer (General Cadre) – 105

In Electrical – 95 in which 46 for Gen, 15 for SC, 01 for ST, 16 for EBC, 13 for BC and 04 for BC (Female).
In Electronics – 10 (UR-04, SC-02, EBC-02, BC-01 and BC (Female)-01)

Electronics – 05 in which 02 for Gen, 01 for SC, 01 for EBC and 01 for BC.
Mechanical – 05 in which 02 for UR, 01 for SC, 01 for EBC, 01 for BC.
Pay Scale:
For Post No. 1 & 2: PB of Rs. 15600-39100/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 5500/-
For Junior Electrical Engineer: Pay Band of Rs. 9300-34800/- and Grade Pay of Rs. 4500/-
Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification: Candidates with 65% marks in Bachelor Degree in Engineering in relevant discipline are eligible for Assistant Electrical Engineer and Assistant Executive Engineer posts and Candidates who have completed three years of Engineering Diploma in relevant subject with 65% marks are eligible for Junior Electrical Engineer Jobs.
Candidates belong to SC/ST are relaxed by 15% of marks and BC/EBC candidates by 05% of marks in Degree / Diploma Engineering. Only those SC/ST/BC/EBC candidates will get relaxation in marks who are domicile of Bihar.
Age Limit: Candidate’s age should not be less than 21 years and not be more than 37 years as on 31st December 2011.
Age Relaxation: SC/ST category candidates will get relaxation in upper age limit by 05 years, BC/EBC candidates by 03 years, PH candidates by 10 years and any other reserved category candidates by as per Government norms.
Application Fees: Rs. 1000/- for all categories candidates and Rs. 250/- for SC/ST candidates who are domicile of Bihar. Those candidates who are regular or contract employees of BSEB need to pay Rs. 400/- of application fees for all categories and Rs. 100/- for SC/ST (Domicile of Bihar).

Bihar State Electricity Board was constituted under section 5 of the Electricity Supply Act, 1948 vide Bihar Government's Notification No. 2884 - A/AI-121/57 dated 25th March, 1958 with effect from 1st April, 1958. The Board was given the responsibility of promoting coordinated development of Generation, Transmission and Distribution of Electricity in the State in an efficient and economic manner.

The applicants are to apply through Online. The Website will be open from 09-01-2012 to 04-02-2012. After filling up the On line application; Candidates have to take a print out of the same. Print out of the application along with necessary certificates, as specified on Website, shall have to be sent through registered post/ speed post to- Joint Secretary (P. K. Govil), Bihar State Electricity Board, Department of General Administration, Vidyut Bhawan, Bailey Road, Patna-800001 so as to reach on or before the last date i.e. 13-02-2012.
