The Software Engineer will:
* Develop, deploy, and maintain network vulnerability signatures for Cisco IPS products.
* Find and research evolving threats which target a variety of platforms and architectures, including those based on Microsoft Windows and Linux.
* Write customer-facing documentation of network vulnerabilities describing details of the vulnerability as well as methods of remediation and descriptions of Cisco exploitation discovery patterns.
* Work with proprietary tools for signature generation.
* Perform signature validation tests. As required, write proof-of-concept code as part of research efforts.
* Contribute innovative ideas for advancement of Cisco network security products.
* Collaborate regularly with other Cisco functions (IntelliShield,

* Must be able to work independently and collaborate within a team on
high priority, customer-facing deliverables with very short lead times.
