Border Security Force – BSF has issued a recruitment notification for the recruitment of Assistant Commandant (Works/Electrical) vacancies for male and female candidates in the Border Security Force.
Name of the posts:
1. Assistant Commandant (Works): 19 vacancies
2. Assistant Commandant (Electrical): 07 vacancies
2. Assistant Commandant (Electrical): 07 vacancies
Age limit: The age limit is 21 to 26 years as on closing date on receipt of application; upper age limit is relaxable as per Govt rules.
Educational qualification:
For Assistant Commandant (Works): Degree in Civil Engineering from recognized university/Institution.
For Assistant Commandant (Electrical): Degree in Electrical Engineering from recognized university/Institution.
Application fee: Bank draft of Rs 100/- (No fee for SC/ST/Departmental candidates) drawn in favour of at respective centre.
Selection procedure: The mode of selection is on the basis of written Examination Conventional type / interview and medical examination.

Till 1965 India ’s borders with Pakistan were manned by the State Armed Police Battallion. Pakistan attacked Sardar Post, Chhar Bet and Beria Bet on 9 April, 1965 in Kutch . This exposed the inadequacy of the State Armed Police to cope with armed aggression due to which the Government of India felt the need for a specialized centrally controlled Border Security Force, which would be armed and trained to man the International Border with Pakistan . As a result of the recommendations of the Committee of Secretaries, the Border Security Force came into existence on 01 Dec 1965 , and Shri K F Rustamji was the first chief and founding father.

How to apply: The eligible candidates may forward their application in prescribed format given in the advertisement, with three recent passport size photographs duly attested by a Gazetted officer should be attached to the application one each photograph to be pasted on the application form and admit card third one to be kept in record, together with required essentials and enclosures and bank draft to the respective address on or before with in 30 days from the date of publication of advertisement (For remote areas with in 45 days from the date of publication of advertisement)
