The prime mandate of ASRB is to recruit the best available scientific manpower to ICAR for meeting future challenges of food and nutritional security in the country. I am told that during the recent past, the ASRB has undertaken several innovative initiatives to streamline the recruitment and assessment system. Notable among those initiatives include: updated computerized data base of specialist advisors in all disciplines of ARS, development of systematic and transparent score card system for recruitment and assessment of scientific personnel, development of ASRB website and to establish state of the art online examination system for NET and ARS examinations with data centre at ASRB and examination centres at 23 ICAR/SAU institutes across the country. With the guidance and support of colleagues in ASRB and inputs from NARS, these initiatives will be further strengthened and upgraded.
