Job Description:

Seeking individuals strong in black box testing and having experience in whitebox testing techniques as well.

Basic Function and Scope of the Position

As a Senior Software QA Engineer you will take up end-to-end ownership of the designated projects/products and help ensure product quality and customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for the development and execution of test cases and QA processes that ensure quality throughout the release schedule. You will document test plans, test scenarios/test cases and test results.

Specific Responsibilities/Functions

• Test planning and Test Design (Creation of Test scenarios/Test Cases)

• Preparation of Test environment

• Execution of Test cases

• Identification, reporting and tracking of defects

Desired Profile:

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• Should have at least 4-7 years of experience in software testing domain.

• Bachelor Degree or Masters Degree in Computer Science.

• Expertise in Blackbox testing techniques & methodologies.

• Very good analytical, testing & technical skills.

• Strong in OS/Windows Concepts like File systems, Services & Processes, Registry and hands-on experience in partitioning, OS installation, and Imaging/VMware.

• Exposure to network fundamentals.

• Expertise in analysis and troubleshooting. Is resourceful and is able to come up with alternative solutions, when addressing problems.

• Strong customer focus

• Minimum of 1 year of development experience in C, C++, C#

• Experience in Whitebox testing techniques and exposure to cppUnit

• Knowledge in Automation - QTP, PERL

• Knowledge in non-functional testing (performance, security, reliability) is an added advantage

• Unix/Linux knowledge will be an added advantage.

• Is able to effectively support the lead in achieving team goals.

• Supports team decisions, is a good team player, does his/ her share of the work. Keeps other team members informed and up-to-date about what is happening in the group. Shares all relevant or useful information.

• Can make appropriate decisions without always asking others what has to be done.

• Takes specific actions to keep skills up-to-date with the most current requirements.

• Takes responsibility for one’s deliverables. Plans and organizes his/ her work around these deliverables. Persists and takes steps to overcome obstacles.
