1. Performance Engineering:
J2EE:
a.Must to have:
• Excellent knowledge in Java / J2EE, one of web server (Apache Tomcat, IBM HTTP Server, Weblogic), one of the application server (WebSphere/Weblogic/JBoss), one of the database (Oracle/SQLServer/DB2)
• Tools: Proficiency in atleast one tool in each category
• Profiling - Jprofiler/JProbe.
• Monitoring - Wily Introscope/IBM Tivoli.
• Analysis – WebLogAnalyzer.
• Performance testing - Load Runner/Silk Performer/Jmeter.
Oracle:
a.Must to have
•Performance tuning knowledge on one of the database like Oracle, Sybase, SQL server, DB2 on Unix or Windows environment
• Index management
• Good understanding of JOINS (merge / nested loop / hash)
• Table / Database partitioning (to the databases which supports)
• Knowledge on different wait events
• Statistics
• Data Reorg
• Good understanding of OLAP Vs OLTP
•Tools: Proficiency in atleast one tool based on the database
* Oracle - Automatic Workload Repository (AWR) / Quest
* DB2 – DB2 Snapshots / db2pd / Quest
