Purpose of the job: To be trained in Indirect Tax & be groomed to ultimately take over as an Asst Manager _Indirect Tax in any of the units

Key Responsibilities:

The incumbent would assist the Asst Manager Indirect Tax, in any of the units of posting, in Indirect Tax matters ( excise, service tx, VAT, customs ) He may also assist in eventual roll out of GST .

Key Responsibilities : Assistance in :

• VAT assessments of respective states .

• Indirect tax payments & returns ( excise , service tax & VAT)

• Handling VAT/excise audits

• Indirect tax appeals & litigation of above 2 states .

• Tax accounting & reconciliations

• Liaison with Revenue Depts & Tax authorities as required.

• Assistance in preparation for GST rollout

• Special Projects e,g preparation of Indirect Tax SOPs & Manual

Key Performance Indicator :

Seeking to make a career in Indirect Taxes ( excise, service tax, VAT, customs ) & specialize in the same for at least 5 yrs .

2-3 years hands- on experience & knowledge of indirect tax laws & filing of returns .

Working accounting knowledge .

Experience in liaison with tax authorities

Expert knowledge of MS Office . working knowledge of SAP would also be desirable .

Ability to deal with Govt dept issues & conform to ethics/code of conduct.

Educational Qualifications : M Com/LLB /Inter CA /Inter ICWA

Minimum Experience : 2-3 yrs
