Punjab Armed Police has given notification for the recruitment of Constable (Male) Vacancies in the Armed Bns. Cadre in Punjab Armed Police. Candidates who qualify matriculation are eligible for Constable (Male) Vacancies.
Constable (Male) - 200 Posts
Age limit: Candidates must posses an age between 18-25 years as on 01-01-2011
Educational qualifications: Candidates who completed matriculation with Punjabi as compulsory /optional subject.
Application fee: Eligible candidates drawn demand draft of 100/- as application fee in favour of Chairman, Recruitment Board cum Inspector General of Police, I.R.Battalions camp at PAP Line, Jalandhar Cantt, payable at Jalandhar Cantt
Selection procedure: Candidates are selected on the basis of Physical Measurement, Physical Efficiency Test & Interview

In 1941, the British raised a contingent of 1000 men as ‘ Additional Police’ to assist the Civil police. After partition, the Hqrs. of this force shifted from Lahore to Jalandhar Cantt and it was re-designated as the "Punjab Armed Police" (PAP). Post independence, Punjab Armed Police performed Indo-Pak border policing. After Chinese Invasion (1962) – 37 Punjab Armed Police Battalions raised. In 1966, at trifurcation of Punjab, 32 Bns. amalgated in BSF, CRPF, SSB, Haryana Armed Police & Himachal Pradesh Armed Police.
